Fifteen people, four disciplines, one hypothesis. Everyone here owns a whole surface — the firmware, the estimator, the app, the health-system relationship — rather than a slice of a ticket queue. We're hiring for exactly one role, with a rigorous process designed to ensure the right fit for both sides.
Two overlap hours a day, everything else async. If you work nights, you can keep working nights.
Early-stage grants with a ten-year exercise window, and we show you the maths before you sign.
1,900 people in pilot cohorts. You'll hear from them in week one, not through a research report.
Science roles publish. That's a term of the job, not a favour we grant later.
Design and run the validation studies that turn our phase estimate into a defensible claim — starting with the DLMO comparison work and the randomised light-timing trial now in review. You own the protocol, the analysis and the paper.
You've run human circadian studies, you can defend a phase-estimation method to a skeptical reviewer, and you're comfortable being the person who tells the company its own numbers are weaker than the marketing wants them to be.
Clinical Partnerships opens next, once the enterprise pilots convert. If that's your background, write early — we've hired ahead of a posting before.
Six stages over roughly two weeks, with careful evaluation at every step. We hire deliberately because a mis-hire at fifteen people costs a quarter. Everything after stage one is paid.
Written submission. Two pages: a study you'd design to falsify our phase estimate, and the weakest claim on our science page. No CV screen — we read the writing first, name removed.
Methods interview, 90 minutes. With the Head of Science. Study design, confounds, statistics. You should expect to be pushed until you say "I don't know" — that's the point of the exercise.
Paid data exercise, one day. Real de-identified pilot data with a known defect in it. We're watching whether you find the defect and say so, not whether you produce a clean result.
Defence, 60 minutes. Present that analysis to the whole science and product group, including an external advisor. They will disagree with you in the room; how you hold or change a position is most of the signal.
A night on the unit. Paid shadow shift with pilot participants, 23:00 to 07:00. Non-negotiable. Nobody designs for this population credibly having only read about it.
References and offer. Three references, at least one who reported to you. Offer comes with the cap table maths written out and two weeks to decide, no pressure tactics.
We give a decision at every stage within three working days, and written feedback whether you get the role or not. Nothing that fits? Write to us anyway — we've hired three people that way.
